You Can't Hold Back the Dawn

SunsetBy Rev. Kenneth W. Hagin

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.— Malachi 4:2–3

There is an empty tomb located outside the city of old Jerusalem. A great stone once sealed that tomb, but the stone was rolled away and our Savior, Jesus, is alive! He’s no longer in that garden tomb, but He is risen and alive forevermore.

The prophet wrote in Malachi 4:2, “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings. . . .” If you believe upon the Name of Jesus, then the Sun of Righteousness has risen for you. Our risen Lord has provided whatever you need.

You may have suffered. You may think life is over and fate has sealed your doom. But I want to tell you that fate has not sealed your doom. That seal has been broken by the power of the Lord Jesus Christ. The dark cloud of hopelessness that may be surrounding you like a shroud can and will be lifted when the Sonshine breaks through. Let the S-o-n of God shine upon you. You will find yourself healed, delivered, and set free, enjoying life and health and happiness as you never have before.

Don’t give up because life looks bleak. Don’t give up because you see no hope on the horizon. The dawn is coming!

On the third day after Jesus was crucified and buried, life looked bleak to his disciples, and all seemed lost. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were on their way to the grave. Jesus’ other disciples were hiding away in fear and sorrow. It was a dark day. There was no ray of hope to be found. Then the earth, spinning on its axis through this vast universe, made that final turn—and the bright rays of the s-u-n began to penetrate the darkness.

But unlike any ordinary dawn, that morning there was also a great earthquake, for the angel of God descended from Heaven and rolled away the stone (Matt. 28:2)! The S-o-n of God had risen! The Light had wiped away the darkness of sin, sickness, and death. The devil’s power of darkness was forever brought to naught by Jesus Christ because nothing could hold back the dawn!

The devil may be trying to hold back the dawn in your life just as he tried to hold back the dawn for Jesus Christ. He may be trying to hold you in captivity—bound in the grave clothes of sickness, poverty, or sin. But friend, I want you to know that even Satan himself can’t hold back the dawn of the S-o-n! You are meant to tread upon the devil, making him like ashes under the soles of your feet (Mal. 4:3)!

I encourage you to stop looking at your problems and to start looking to the Problem Solver! You will begin to see a great dawning as the Sun of Righteousness rises in your life. The darkness will flee and take all hopelessness with it! You will find healing and freedom in every area because Jesus lives!

Today the choice is yours. You are the only one who can hold back the dawn in your life. No other person and no power, circumstance, or sin can hold back the dawn. I’m the only one who can make that decision in my life, and you alone determine if you will allow the power and glory of God to rise in your life.

Whatever you need—spiritually, physically, emotionally, financially, or socially—was provided for you by Jesus’ death, burial, and Resurrection. Nearly 2,000 years ago, Jesus Christ walked out of the tomb and a great Dawning took place. It’s time for you to walk out of the sorrow of darkness and into the marvelous Light.
